Best Places to Take the Perfect Smoky Mountains Photo

When you are on vacation, it can be difficult to capture the best pictures. For this reason, we have compiled a collection of the best places to take photos while you're spending time in the Smoky Mountains.

Any area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be excellent for photographs! If you go on a hike solely for the purpose of capturing nature, choose a waterfall hike! The waterfall hikes are great Smoky Mountains photo locations! Hikes are filled with wildflowers and various unique plants along the trail. Once you reach the waterfall, you will notice plenty of picture-taking areas. As well as taking excellent photos of the waterfalls, you can use the waterfall as a background for a great family snapshot.

When you visit Cades Cove, make sure to pack your camera! As you spend time in the Smokies, you will notice many old buildings. If you're looking to take historic photographs, Cades Cove is the place to be! There are many old log cabins and mills that have been preserved along the Cades Cove Loop. The Cades Cove area is also one of the best places to see wildlife. Animals such as deer and bears tend to come out of the woods at dawn and dusk for feeding time. During this time, you can also catch some great photos of the sunrise and sunset with the gorgeous rolling mountains in the background.

Spending time in the mountains does not always mean you have to go hiking. Plan a Smoky Mountain picnic at one of the many picnic locations in the mountains. Year-round picnic areas are located at Cades Cove, Greenbrier, and Metcalf Bottoms. While you are picnicking, you may catch a glimpse of some roaming wildlife, so make sure to have your camera ready!
