Emma's Place is a stunning, custom-built, handcrafted, large-log home with 4 master bedrooms and 4 baths. This big log cabin is nestled in the woods and is the perfect place for your group or family escape. Surrounded by a gently running weather creek and the quiet serenity of nature, this is a fantastic place to find peace and rest in gracious accommodations. Just inside the handcrafted covered log entry the foyer opens to an impressive 23 foot vaulted main living area framed by a glass and beam wall taking in the forest with all its natural beauty. Complete with a large stone fireplace, 52" flat screen TV/DVD, an antique oak writing desk, this main living area has three oversized leather sofas, one of them a sleeper. Wood floors throughout just beautifully refinished winter 2013. You may not want to leave the living room! But, if you do, you will also find on this main level a large covered deck, a magnificent dining area with slate floors, a fully furnished modern kitchen, full bath with tub/shower and a king bedroom suite.
Through the living area and out the French doors the outdoor entertainment area boasts an 8-person spa, pub table, rockers and gas grill for your enjoyment. The stream which runs right beside the deck makes lovely splashing noises as it makes its way across the property which has been beautifully landscaped to reflect its natural woodsy setting.
There is a beautiful firepit in the outdoor area for your enjoyment. We do not supply firewood.
Centerpiece of the dining area is an English oak dining suit with seating for 10. Elegantly placed atop the slate flooring and beneath the vaulted cathedral ceiling the dining room will accommodate any gathering from casual to elegant. The cooks will want to take up permanent residence in the well lit modern kitchen complete with granite counter tops and functional food-prep island. Not a cook? Pull up a stool to the island, enjoy a beverage and take in the sights and smells of your next meal. The lucky guests residing on the main level will love their king bedroom suite furnished with 47" flat screen TV/DVD and private bath with shower and jacuzzi tub. The main floor also hosts full bath with tub/shower.
Upstairs the vaulted game room looks out over the great room below and the forest beyond. Two arcade games, Pac Man and a Multi Cade, Pool Table, and Shuffleboard are available for indoor entertainment and provide hours of fun.
There are also three bedrooms upstairs, located on either side of the open loft gaming area. The first is a king suite with flat screen TV/DVD and private bath with shower. The two queen bedrooms share a bath with shower tub. All three of the upstairs bedrooms have beautiful vaulted ceilings with lots of slopes and angles and an impressive array of finish carpentry.
Peaceful, Quiet, Relaxing except for the natural, mountain sounds of running water and forest animals. Lots of river rock landscaping which accent and add to the natural mountain woodsy setting. Plenty of room on the property for wandering and enjoying being outdoors in the Great Smoky Mountains. Landscaping includes a lovely bridge over the stream.

The cabin was breathtaking! We drove up on Friday and it was covered in snow!! So glad we got to experience the snow. We used the fire pit Friday night and really enjoyed it. The entire cabin was well maintained, cleaned, and had everything we needed. The staff at Stony Brook was so helpful and stayed in touch about the possible weather warnings on our travel day. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

It was beautiful, spotlessly clean and neat, and the staff was very friendly and helpful every time I called.

The cabin was lovely but in need of some cleaning. There were cobwebs in many of the windows but overall the experience was fantastic.

Roaches and bugs in cabin. Our guests had to kill a few roaches in the upstairs master before going to bed. made us feel like horrible hosts.
Downstairs thermostat did not function always ran very cold downstairs. Read 70 degrees and still ran set at 74 degrees.
New broom and dustpan needed in cabin. Current one worn out and unable to sweep up bug carcuses which added up after 7 days.
minor things to repair:
loose handrail at top of stairs
towel ring in downstairs master about to fall off wall
Gutters clogged and inoperable.
Overall enjoyed the stay.
