What people are saying about this property
The cabin was as beautiful as it was advertised. In fact, it was more beautiful than advertised. My family and I really enjoyed staying at Greystone Retreat. We had everything that we needed at the cabin. We were able to utilize all of the amenities, but on the last night, a couple of people had to exit the hot tub after seeing a large bear walking down the stairs. Now, the mountain ride is not for the faint at heart. It’s steep and there are no guardrails. If it wasn’t for the mountain ride, I’d definitely go back. A few people in our group said that they would be booking in the near future.
Staff was accommodating and gracious. House was great. We had a bear visitor each day. Be bear aware!
It is a beautiful facility with a great view. We enjoyed it, especially the visiting bears.
House gets 5*s. Excellent. Designed to accommodate large groups in comfort. Large enough to hold 40 family members. Lots of outdoor spaces and common areas on each of three levels. Very well equipped and very clean. We have a family reunion every year with 30-40 people ranging in age from 1-81. Excellent accommodations for all. Only negative was we had regular visits from a family of bears. 4 adolescent bears and a Momma bear. Novelty wore off. Had to be super careful with small children.
Very well maintained cabin. Secluded area that was quiet and peaceful. Gas fire pit, indoor pool, and “movie theater” were all very popular.
Outstanding cabin! Outstanding memories made! Great place to reunite. Thank you. Our Brotherhood 3/2 Kilo "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother." - William Shakespeare in Henry V. The bond that is shared between all Marines, past and present was solidified once again this past week in Gatlinburg, TN. at Greystone Retreat. Almost a quarter of a century has gone by and you would think with this many years apart that relationships would falter, connections would sever and the bond would have dissipated. After 25 years, the spirit of brotherly connection was reignited and became even stronger than I once thought. We laughed for days as we remember good times and bad. We celebrated the living while never forgetting the memories of our fallen. We came together as if we were never separated. I have never had a bond truer than from those that I have served with. The bond between Marines is forever. A bond unbroken. SFMF!
Absolutely amazing cabin and Gatlinburg experience. The cabin is even more beautiful and spacious in person than the listing photos. Our family had a great weekend trip.
Great great stay!!!! We will use stoney brook cabins next time we stay. Great people
Every thing was great. They always get back to you in a matter of minutes
This house is perfection for a large group gathering. Everything you need is provided and it is so comfortable. This was our second time using for a sales meeting and will definitely be back again.
We loved every second of our stay!! Wonder way to get away and relax!
Fabulous stay for family of 30. Beautiful house, beautiful location, and staff called to ensure everything was ok multiple times. Would highly recommend!
Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. We would 100% return!
Great!! The place was exactly as advertised and had nice fully stocked kitchenware!
I love the cabin it was beautiful. Staff was very nice and quick to respond.
This house is absolutely Fantastic! The bedrooms are spacious and inviting. The kitchen is beautiful and well equipped. The large porch area has breath taking views and we had a fantastic time. Many encounters with bears in the areas around the house but what a beautiful sight. Highly recommend this house for large groups. We had 32 and were very comfortable. Loved it !!
Everything went so smooth for example calling for trash pick up was quick. We really enjoyed the house. Very equipped with everything. Even the visitation of the bears were so exciting. Plenty space.
Our stay at the Greystone Retreat was amazing. The place was gorgeous, and had everything we needed. More importantly, every person that we interacted with from stony Brook, from booking to check out and in between, was absolutely amazing. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, and very patient with me during this crazy time. I cannot wait to come back to Gatlinburg, and I’m sure we will come to a Stony Brook cabin again. Thank you all for everything!!
Great communication before and during our stay. House was clean and well maintained and well stocked. All information accurate and helpful. Customer service was exceptional.
The cabin was clean, well situated, and ideal for our large family! We really enjoyed the pool and the movie theater. The view was gorgeous
Cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for our reunion. Would definitely recommend to others!! Check in was very easy with the door code, Denise called to check and make sure everything was going ok. Wonderful customer service.
What an awesome cabin! Our group had a great time!
We had a perfect week. Cabin was amazing and well stocked. Enjoyed the the theater room, pool, hot tub and fire pit. We will definitely be back!
Man oh Man ! The pictures don’t do this cabin ANY JUSTICE ! We were there 10/15-18. From the time we pulled up, walked in to the time we left, we had the most amazing time. We had more than enough room for 30 adults ! The beds were very comfortable and we made use of all the amenities and everything worked ! Ms Pam & the staff at Stonybrook went above and beyond before and during our stay I will tell you that! We were in town for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday & It ended up being a surprise proposal as well & I ended up eaving a whole fiancée. It was definitely a weekend to remember. I would highly recommend this cabin and company to anyone! We definitely are planning to come back!
This house met all our expectations - we loved it!
The cabin was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful. Answered phone when called and tended to our necessities. It was a wonderful experience for our entire family and children. We will definitely do this all over again.
This cabin will blow your mind. It is hands down the best cabin I’ve ever stayed in. The view is out of this world and the pool provided entertainment for hours.
All issues was taken care of in a timely manners. The ONLY thing was the mattresses in every room was too soft but other than that Greystone Retreat was Awesome!!!!
Our stay was WONDERFUL!! We loved the cabin and plan on returning. It’s the nicest cabin we have ever seen.
The cabin was amazing! I didn't think it could be better than the awesome pictures presented on your website. The pool, the movie theatre, the view of the mountains, wildlife, IT was truly an amazing vacation!
Everything was excellent regarding our stay! The cabin was immaculate and super clean upon arrival. Well stocked kitchen with lots of utensils, cookware, glasses, etc. Super nice to have pool and hot tub along with fire pit. Office staff was super easy to work with and very thorough. Thanks for a fantastic stay! Lawn service was also nice in that they even asked if we wanted them to come back since we were there when they came.
Beautiful - Clean - Comfortable - The view is amazing - Amenities were fabulous - Just overall perfect. We are rebooking and have sent out this company to many friends.
We enjoyed our stay! The customer service was impeccable. The cabin was spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. The heated indoor pool was so much fun! I highly recommend this can and Stony Brook. We will be back soon.
We were all very pleased with the accommodations. We cooked 4 big meals for 25 people and had everything we needed. The size and layout of the house also gave us plenty room to spread out and be comfortable- even on a weekend where the weather pretty much confined us to the house! We did have a little trouble with the pool door being temperamental but no other issues whatsoever. Greystone Retreat is a great property that I would highly recommend to others.
Responsive and as flexible and the situation allowed. The kitchen needed a few small things, but the cabin kept everybody entertained even through 3 days of rain.
The cabin was beautiful and everything we expected and more.
The Greystone Retreat was perfect for our daughter’s wedding! Pam went above and beyond to help us make the event happen with short notice. Everything from making sure the new karaoke machine was installed, extra trash cans, early check in, and tons of advice on vendors, etc. The staff all signed a card and left an adorable bear bride and groom figurine for the couple! Thank you!!
This was the best cabin ever. Clean, crisp, spacious, luxurious
Great service and the house was amazing. Beautiful home, perfect location, couldn’t ask for more. We will definitely be back.
StonyBrook was the best decision we made for our big day!! Everything was amazing and loved the cake topper and card that was given to us as a gift! When I saw the backdrop and setting in the backyard I knew this was the place I wanted my wedding. The floor layout was also a huge place and have your own bathroom even more with trying to get everyone ready on time. Everyone enjoyed themselves and couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful this place was for a wedding. It was great to have things on each floor for activities, the pool was a DEFINITE hit!! Only very small thing was when we called about locating a plunger the person on the other end seemed cold with their responses. We were on our way out to dinner when the 1/2 bath toilet was clogged by our son, once we arrived to the restaurant we called to see if they knew if there was a plunger in a certain bathroom or location so we could get it taken care of when we get back. Other than that, which was no issue at all, our stay was definitely a 10.
Excuse this lengthy review, but this house deserves a detailed review! We paid an extra $20 to be able to check in without stopping at the office, this was very convenient given they called us as soon as the place was ready so we could get in early! I had mentioned somewhere in ail correspondence with Stony Brook that we were planning on getting married at the house and when we arrived, there was a card signed by the staff and a little bear cake topper! The house is stunning and the view is WOW, incredible. The rooms are all about the same size, with the exception of one of the bedrooms on the main floor (handicap accessible room) not having a closet, but it does have a zero entry shower. The only complaint about the rooms is just that they give plenty of towels, but no real hooks to hang them on, just the short bar that all the towels come on. The kitchen is nice and well equipped with plenty of dishes! We didn't have any problems storing food contrary to a prior review because there was a completely empty wood cabinet in the kitchen. The only odd/slightly annoying thing in the kitchen was that the dishwashers aren't bolted in and they move around a lot when open and closed. The living room was nice with very comfortable couches that would be good to sleep on if you somehow managed to find more people to come than beds available. The thing that I was most excited about and not at all let down by was the covered porch. The view was amazing and the porch was HUGE. My now husband and I got married on the porch with 18 guests, a Reverend, and two photographers and it didn't really feel crowded. We planned on having the ceremony by the fire pit, but there was a chance for rain (which luckily didn't happen) so we ended up having it on the porch and I am so grateful. Our guests and we were blocked from the sun! The only downside to the deck/porch is that it seems they put it up quickly and some of the deck had nails instead of screws which were sharp if barefoot We saw 2 adult bears and 3 cubs several times at the house. Some even decided to attempt a dip (actually drinking from I'm sure) in the hot tub and tore the cover apart, which maintenance quickly repaired on a Saturday! The hot tub was a tight squeeze for 4 people, which was difficult with 20 guests staying. The road up to the cabin is definitely winding and steep, but accessible. Overall, this cabin exceeded all of our expectations and we wish we had another reason to come back soon!
Wonderful cabin that was well furnished and supplied. Great for our group.
Very clean and well appointed cabin. Location was great and staff was very helpful in making our stay a fun time.
We had a great stay at Greystone. The cabin was beautiful and fit our party of 32 perfectly. We loved the deck, fireplace and pool!
Upstairs exterior door was jammed throughout stay. As a baseball team, we could have used another washer and dryer. Fantastic cabin otherwise!
Everything was great! The house was beautiful. Check in and check out was super easy.
Great experience and wonderful facilities for our family reunion Saw bears nearby almost every day.
Wonderful surroundings, cabin was beautiful inside and out. There were some issues with flickering of power in a couple of the rooms.
I held a retreat for 21 woman here on Mother’s Day weekend & it was EVERYTHING I hoped for and more. The cabin was absolutely stunning; it was modern, amazingly clean, functional, tranquil, cozy and the views of the Smoky mountains were gorgeous. The house had everything we needed; an abundance of dinnerware, cups, utensils, etc. More importantly the service was top notch. The owners & staff provided amazing service & are super friendly. They made sure our stay was exceptional. They made sure the pool levels were always safe for us daily & when we lost our lights in one room (minor issue), they sent someone right away to rectify the problem. They provided overall phenomenal customer service. We also hired. Private chef (Chef Ray of Fruitful Vintage) which is affiliated with StonyBrook cabins and I sing his praises. He had a great personality, flavorful food, was punctual & I can’t wait to hire him again. This was my first time in Tennessee & it will forever hold a special place in my heart. It’s a feel good place.
Where do I begin? After another rental company cancelled on us at the last minute we were scrambling to find a place. We were so lucky to have found The Greystone Retreat by Stony Brook. From the beginning of the process all the way through the end I have been impressed with the excellent communication, service, attention to detail, and of course the cabin itself. My party of 31 all had a beautiful time and enjoyed the cabin. I would recommend the cabin and the management company to anyone that asked. There really were only a couple negatives and I hate to even mention them because we such a great experience, but to offer a fair review I think it is important to mention them. The last quarter mile drive up to the house is a little hairy, especially when it is dark, rainy, and foggy. A couple of people ended up carpooling the rest of the weekend because of the curves, incline, and no guardrails. During the day it was fine. Second thing. While there are enough plates and glasses for at least 150 people, and I appreciate that; it leaves little room in the cabinets for supplies. We kept saying, the only thing wrong with this kitchen is there isn’t storage. Not a huge deal, we just had to leave a lot of supplies on the tables and countertops. The breakers tripped several times in a couple of the rooms, we reset them and reported it upon checkout. One of the beds had a broken support so it dipped in the middle.I also reported upon checkout. There was nothing negative that would have impacted my decision to stay here. i highly recommend it for any large groups. I cannot say enough about the service given from the rental company. Excellent choice for a cabin and worth the price.
Wonderful. The weather was not the best, but that didn't matter. The cabin was perfect for a lovely weekend retreat.
Pam and the team at Stony Brook is a wonderful group. They helped us at the very last minute find the right property for a group of our size. Greystone Retreat is a beautiful property and has a gorgeous vantage point of the surrounding mountains. Honestly, the view from the balcony is stunning. We did not have one issue during our stay and could not have asked for a more pleasant getaway. If you are looking for a great place to stay while in Gatlinburg then this is the right place!
Fantastic view is an understatement. Greystone Retreat offers a Bird's eye view of the surrounding mountains overlooking down town Gatlinburg. We were able to play in the indoor heated pool and enjoy the breath taking view of the snow capped mountains at the same time. From the spacious rooms to the spectacular view of the outdoor fire pit, Greystone has it all. Greystone was beyond our expectations. Thanks to the friendly staff and the Stony Brook family, we had an incredible vacation get away. Looking forward to another visit soon.

It was a such fabulous stay for 23 of us at Greystone Retreat. We wished there was a fencing around the hot tub. The teenagers in our party was sneaking out at midnight into it. With active bears around (we saw a nice bear near the trash can in the morning when we were leaving. it was a wonderful sight, and made our day!!), it would have been nice to have fencing, so rest of our could sleep soundly. Overall 10/10 experience, and we will do it again.
