Hear the Sweet Sounds of the Mountains at Annual Gatlinburg Event

As one of the most popular events in Gatlinburg, Tunes and Tales will run throughout the summer, so guests of the Smoky Mountains can enjoy the collection of entertainers and performers all season long. This is one of the best events in the mountains that truly highlights the area’s culture and walkability. Parking at one end of Gatlinburg, guests can walk to the other end and back easily while exploring the eateries and local shops.

Beginning in April and May, downtown Gatlinburg will have street performers on Fridays and Saturdays, entertaining vacationers each weekend. From June through August, guests of the Smokies will be able to enjoy the performances every night of the week.

During the spring weekend performances, the entertainers will meet in the center of downtown from around 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and during the summer nightly performances from 6:00pm – 11:00pm. Admission is free.

The unique, family-friendly event is centered around the heritage and culture of the Smoky Mountains. The mountain-style music featured will include traditional bluegrass, folk, country and Gospel. The event will also feature the talents cloggers, spinners and quilters. Zeno, the Gatlinburg Bear, will also make special appearances to join in on the fun.

Storytellers, musicians and artisans from all across the Smoky Mountains travel to downtown to celebrate this Gatlinburg event. Not only will they perform for audiences, the talented musicians, dancers and crafters will even have special shows, where you can learn some dance steps and how to make music with household items.
