1. Clingmans Dome

Clingmans Dome is a popular place to see the mountain ranges. With elevation at 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, guaranteeing you a 360-degree view of the mountains. On clear days, you will be able to see as far as 100 miles away. The walk to the observation tower is about 0.5 of a mile, but it is steep. The path is paved, making it easier for people to walk.

2. Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook

The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook is a pull off area located on the Gatlinburg Bypass between the Gatlinburg Spur and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From this overlook, you will be able to see downtown Gatlinburg, along with the Great Smoky Mountains in the background. It is a picture perfect spot to stop any time of the year, from the green of spring and summer to the colorful leaves in fall. There are about 4 parking areas where you can stop and see this amazing view.

3. Newfound Gap

If you want to take a scenic drive in the Smokies and see amazing views of the mountains, you should go along Newfound Gap. This road runs from Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Cherokee, North Carolina. It sits at 3,000 feet in elevation, and this gap is the lowest point within the mountain range. 4. Andrews Bald

Hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains is a great way to see mountain views. A fairly easy hike that ends with great views of the Smokies is Andrews Bald. The roundtrip length of this trail is 3.6 miles. You’ll make your way through the forest and eventually come to the bald, which is a meadow on top of a mountain. You can look out past the meadow and see mountains for miles, making this an area you have to capture on film.

5. Mt. LeConte

If you’re a hiking hobbyist, then you have to go to one of the top places in the Smoky Mountains: Mt. LeConte. You have plenty of options of how to get to the top. Take Alum Cave trail and see the huge rocks of the bluffs. Along Bullhead Trail, you can see Rainbow Falls before you reach the top of the mountain. The other trails you can use include Trillium Gap, the Appalachian Trail, and Brushy Mountain trail. Once you’re at the top, you will have breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains.
