4 Things You'll Only Find in Gatlinburg TN

Gatlinburg TN is definitely a unique place! Right on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the southeastern United States. In addition to its wonderful location and beautiful scenery, Gatlinburg is also home to some one-of-a-kind attractions. Take a look at these 4 things you'll only find in Gatlinburg:

1. A Mini Golf Course On the Side of a Mountain

Hillbilly Golf is home to two different 18-hole courses that are both located on the side of a mountain. To get to the start of the courses, you'll take a tram ride 300 feet up to the mountain's peak, seeing all kinds of plants and possibly wildlife along the way. You definitely can't say you rode a tram at any other mini golf courses! Themed around the stereotypical hillbilly life, the courses feature tractors, moonshine stills, outhouses, and other fun obstacles. Your group will have so much at this unique attraction.

2. The Longest Pedestrian Suspension Bridge

Since 1950, the Gatlinburg SkyLift has been taking passengers to the top of Crockett Mountain to see incredible views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. This attraction has expanded to include the SkyDeck, an incredible observation deck where you can experience views you won't find anywhere else. Plus, you can cross the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North American, known as the SkyBridge at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. In the middle of the bridge, there are 3 glass panels, creating a total of 15 feet of glass you walk over to get to another observation deck. There's definitely not anything else like this!

3. A Ski Resort in Tennessee

Things to do in Ober Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg is the only place you can go skiing in the state of Tennessee! Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area & Amusement Park offers superb skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing during the winter months. Even though Gatlinburg usually doesn't get much snow, Ober's high powered snow machines make sure that the mountains always have fresh powder. In the off season, Ober Gatlinburg offers a number of popular family activities, including a mountain coaster, alpine slide, chairlift ride, mini golf course, arcade, indoor ice skating rink, and even more fun things to do. The best way to get to Ober is to take the Aerial Tramway, a cable car ride that leaves from downtown Gatlinburg and offers breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains.
