The view is undoubtedly the best reason to stay at Luxury Lookout. But the 1-bedroom cabin has plenty of other attractions too: including an outdoor hot tub, an indoor jetted tub, a pool table, theater/movie room and the ability to sleep up to 4 people… and a dog! Because Luxury Lookout is perched high atop a mountain, it offers spectacular privacy as well as awe-inspiring views of lush woodlands, the Great Smoky Mountains, and seemingly infinite skies. From the main deck or the upstairs balcony you can sit on a log rocker and marvel at the majesty of the mountains, the gentle breeze rustling through the trees, the falcons and eagles swooping overhead, and the chirping of chickadees. And that’s just during the day! At night, with no competing lights, the sky comes alive with twinkling stars against the background music of whippoorwills and owls. Perhaps the best way to revel in the surrounding beauty is while soaking in the hot tub. Total relaxation in total privacy The combination of nature’s grandeur and the steamy, bubbling jets of water is a sensory banquet like no other.
You can savor the views indoors as well. The loft's many windows let you feel as if you’re outdoors even when you’re lounging in the indoor jetted tub, watching the big game on the flat-screen TV, or shooting pool. In fact, the views could prove hazardous to your game—they’re so incredibly distracting! The main floor, below the loft, has a spacious open floor plan living/dining/kitchen area. A pair of lux leather sofas complement the beautiful wood walls, floor, and vaulted ceiling. Cool evenings will draw you to the hand-laid stone fireplace. Whether you’re watching a movie on the 50” HDTV with cable and DVD player, surfing the web via the free WiFi, or getting lost in a good book, you will so enjoy spending time in this incredIbly warm and welcoming living room. One sofa, by the way, opens into a bed for 2. If you’re vacationing with the kids, they’ll love using this room as their bedroom! The kitchen’s gleaming stainless-steel appliances and open floor plan will make it a pleasure to prepare meals or snacks in your home away from home. The charcoal grill outdoors will come in handy if you reel in a trout from one of the nearby fishing holes or simply have a hankering for a grilled burger.
Once you see Luxury Lookout’s spacious en-suite bedroom you will want to book it for your honeymoon or that special long weekends just for the two of you. The lofty king-size bed faces a wall of windows, so that you wake up to the glorious view of the mountains. Doors open directly onto the deck, encouraging you to slip outside for a midnight soak in the hot tub or a nightcap in the moonlight! Oh so romantic! Or that first hot cup of coffee in the morning. Just you, the aroma of your coffee and the mountains in your own private cabin getaway with your own spectacular view. The bedroom has a full bathroom. There is also a second bathroom located upstairs. We’ll have plenty of freshly laundered towels ready and waiting when you arrive—no need to bring your own. In fact, you can pack extra light, since Luxury Lookout has its own washer and dryer. This one bedroom can also be rented as a 3 bedroom. We simply lock off the other two bedrooms located downstairs.
We have just completed a fabulous theater room which is available for you downstairs. Comfy Catnapper theater seating. Microwave for your popcorn. Decorated to look like a movie theater complete with black curtains and exit sign. Another of the cabin’s amenities is actually off-site: free access in the summer to 3 pool areas that, like Luxury Lookout, are part of the private Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which itself is set within a 1,000-acre resort.
And if you’re a golfer, you’ll enjoy being just minutes from the award-winning Bent Creek golf course, designed by legendary golfer Gary Player—it’s at the lower edge of the resort! Luxury Lookout is also just a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, the restaurants and attractions of downtown Gatlinburg, and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. The Greenbriar entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park is only about 4 miles away and is much loved for its trails and peace and quiet along the river. You can fish in the river there, swim in the local’s swimming hole (we’ll give you the secret) or enjoy one of several hiking trails like the one to Ramsey Cascades.
Those are just a few of the reasons you should make Luxury Lookout your home away from home when visiting Gatlinburg. So... what are you waiting for? We had a wonderful experience, it was hard to leave today. The cabin was clean, the bed comfortable, and the view amazing. The movie room was wonderful. The only hiccup was the dryer which needed to be repaired. This was communicated very well by your customer service. However, after the repair it still took quite awhile to dry clothes, so not sure if it was really repaired. Other than that, A+++.
